Tuesday Morning Open Social
Welcome Seniors, Stick Curlers, Dayhome Moms and Dads, anyone who wants to curl! Come join in a friendly game of curling during the day!

Note that this league is growing in popularity with the potential for a max of 26 teams; 2 draw times would be required - 6:30 PM and 8:45 PM with teams alternating between the two draws each week.

Friday night Curling is back! After a two-year hiatus, we're pleased to welcome back our Mixed curlers in a new format: Open Mixed. This means you only need to have one (1) person on the team of a differing gender, and they can play any position.
Why should you join Friday Open Mixed:
- You are a new or beginner curler.
- You are an intermediate or long-time (but not competitive) curler.
- You want to do something fun on Friday nights.

Locker Rentals - $30 per locker for one full season
Alternates and Sparing:
- Fifth and Sixth players may play any position throughout the season so long as they are registered to that team. Note that Fifth and Sixth players are included in the 4-person team fee.
- Spares that are not registered to a team may only play the lead or second position. There is no charge for sparing, however we do appreciate donations to our Junior Program (payable at the bar).
League Information
- League teams receive 2 points for a win, and 1 point for a tie. Your team's 3rd should verify by filling in the league schedule after the game.
Recording Points:
- All teams are responsible for filling out the scorecards and returning them to the score card holder at the bottom of the scoreboard.
- Scores will be recorded and score cards kept in the 'master score' binder in the facility office, available for reviewed upon request at any time.
- Scoreboard is updated every Monday morning after the past weeks play.
Playoffs:
There will be three weeks of playoffs at the end of the season. Format TBD.
Club Championship Playoff Information
Both the Men's and Ladies Club Championship representatives this season will be determined with a one or two day playoff. If fewer than 8 teams sign up, the event will be one day only. If more than 8 teams sign up, the event will take place over two days.
Both the Men's and Ladies playdowns will take place on January 20th and 21st, 2024. All teams that wish to represent the Beaumont Curling Club must register and play on this weekend.
The format of the event will be determined closer to the date, once the number of teams entered has been established.
Policies & Rules
- Fees are due on or before October 31
- All teams must be PAID IN FULL by October 31
- Late Registrations should be paid before their first game
- All teams are required to sell one raffle book each to assist the Club in our fundraising efforts and keeping league fees low
- A minimum of 8 teams are required to run a league which includes 20 league games and additional play-off games
- Teams that cancel or not show up for their scheduled game will forfeit that game
- Must curl at scheduled time (clock at far end is the curl time); make up games must be requested through the Manager to be approved by the Board
- 8 end games are encouraged; 2 hour games should be everyone's finished target time
- For evenings with 2 draws, a 2 hour game will be enforced and curlers will need to be off the ice 15 minutes before the next scheduled draw
- Both teams' Skips must advise all on ice players before the draw starts if less than 8 ends are to be played.
- Two of the original registered team's curlers must be present and ready to play for each scheduled game.
- A maximum of 2 spares can play at one time, but must play lead or second
- Spares may 'call' the game but must play lead or second (i.e throw the lead or second rocks)
- With 13 teams entered 1 team will have a bye and will be considered a 1 draw league.
- With 14 + teams entered we will have 2 draws for that league at 6:30pm and 8:45pm (example: 1st draw 8 teams / 2nd draw 6 teams until sheets are full)
All regular league play is governed by Curling Alberta's rules, in conjunction with Beaumont Curling Club’s own house rules.
- All games are 8 ends unless agreed by both teams that less ends are permitted, both Skip's are to advise all on ice players before start
- Tied games will not be broken, but instead each team will be awarded 1 point
- All games will conclude after the last full end played prior to the scheduled end time
- All games will be a maximum of 2 hours in length; avoid slow play, start on time to finish on time
- All games are played as scheduled, team cancelations or no-shows will forfeit the game
- Teams must have 2 original members, spares not to assume skip position.
- Spares, are league members and are available to curl when required at anytime but we ask you not use the same people every time.
- All teams have declared players through the Clubs registration process.
- Guests, are most welcome to curl as a spare free of charge as a way of introducing them to the Club, please make sure you introduce them to everyone on your sheet and please advise the staff before game time.
- Accumulated number of points will determine each leagues Champion, mark your score every time! Tie breaker game date, TBD
